964 fascination at the Manufaktur workshop

Is there a better family car?’ These were the words used by carmaker Porsche in the late 1980s to advertise the Porsche 964. At Manufaktur964, we can only agree with the passion for the sports car that is conveyed. To share our enthusiasm with others, an exclusive workshop on the Porsche 964 Carrera was held in February 2022.
The Porsche 964 was developed in the late 1980s in line with customer demand. It combines the original 911 feel with more powerful performance, low weight and added driving comfort. The high level of interest from back then has remained to this day. That's why we at Manufaktur964 have delved into the engine world of the historic car in an exclusive workshop.
Two days full of 964 passion
Our workshop took place on the first weekend of February 2022
Saturday – the day of the status assessment
In a region surrounded by vineyards, the workshop participants were welcomed to Ingelheim on Friday night.
The actual workshop began on Saturday morning, when the guests arrived at the Manufaktur964 workshop and were greeted by Hans-Michael Gerischer.
In line with the Manufaktur964 principle of ‘best quality without compromise’, the planned assessment of a Porsche 964 Carrera was accompanied by culinary delights from Guy Bastian.
As part of the assessment, a paint layer measurement was started in collaboration with the workshop participants, followed by an assessment of the accident-free history and the technical condition. The test drive to check the functionality then gave the workshop participants a first-hand taste of the powerful engine performance and the well-known driving comfort of a Porsche 964.
After a break for Guy Bastian's culinary highlights, the day drew to a close with the cost estimate for the restoration and the vehicle disassembly for maintenance according to the maintenance plan. With Guy Bastian tasting various wines, the group lingered at Manufatur964 until late into the night.
Sunday – The day of maintenance
An impressive first day was rounded off on Sunday with the next experience.
After a hearty breakfast, all workshop participants gathered again in the workshop of Manufaktur964. After drawing up the maintenance plan the day before, the next step was to actually maintain the Porsche 964 Carrera. This included checking and adjusting the valve clearance, completing the remaining work and mounting add-on parts. A final test run concluded the successful maintenance
The workshop concluded with a quiche-tasting session with Guy Bastian at lunchtime.
After the official farewell, the participants started their journey home at 2:00 p.m.
A successful get-together at the Manufaktur964 workshop
We are happy to report that all workshop participants were able to live out their passion for the Porsche 964 over the weekend and arrived home full of special impressions and delicacies.
